Total Chord Melody for Guitar
Play the guitar as a complete free-standing solo instrument. Play melody, chords and rhythm at the same time. Learn to create your own arrangements and play a variety of popular jazz standards.
This course is for the guitarist who wants to learn to play Chord-Melody style. When you play Chord-Melody, you play all the parts together at the same time. No need to bring a singer, drummer or bass player. It’s just you and the guitar, like what a piano player would do. In this course you’ll develop a repertoire of jazz standards. By understanding how those arrangements were built from a lead sheet, you’ll learn to create your own arrangements.
You will have the most success with this course if you already read music and understand fingerboard harmony. You may want to consider completing two other courses first. “Reading Music for Guitar,” to learn to read, and “Cooler Chords for Jazz Guitar” to learn fingerboard harmony.
